Hello Jerry & Linda, I send my condelences to yourselves and family. I wanted to send a message, because although you know that Chris had many friends, I wanted to take the opportunity to display just that. Its always going to be part of Chris' legacy to me, not just the adventures he had, but the people he connected with from all walks of life. I worked with Chris at John F. Murphy Homes. We spent some time together occasionally, over a period of a couple years and stayed in touch the way Chris always did, that infamous spontaneous phone call..."Hey! It's Chris..." During the time we hung out and worked together, he was 22 and I was 30. Chris was single and carefree, and I had a family with all the worries that go with that. He was spontaneous and I "had" to have plans. Chris liked the outdoors and nature and I liked the city with asphalt. Despite our differences we both liked each other and learned quite a bit from each other I think. We knew we would remain friends casually because I lived a married and settled life somewhat and Chris needed to be in the wind. I always encouraged him to take his dog and hit the road and when he left for Carolina and started his ventures outward I was a happy man. Chris' ability to be carefree, in the wind, adventuresome, and daring made him somewhat of a hero to me in various ways. I am going to be sad that my man is no longer out there trekking along but I am elated that Chris took his shot and led an adventuresome life. Chris had many many friends and acquaintances and I am fortunate to have been one of them. Again my condolences and my thoughts are with your family. Ed Belanger
