Mr and Mrs Douglass, I am Sharon Buck and 2 years ago I met Chris at our yearly Country Chowdown in Augusta. It was there we talked about music and running and babies (I was pregnant at the time!). I asked him to go with me to a concert given by an incredible artist named Francis Dunnery. We had a blast!! The evening started with me meeting him here at the station after he had been digging for gold! He changed and drove me to the concert which was held in the backwoods at a friends house. We took a walk thruogh the woods and stopped at a lake and just talked. We talked so much we almost missed the concert! He was wearing his glasses and they dropped into the lake. He said I'll get them after the concert and, sure enough, in the pitch dark with a glow stick he and I went down through the woods. He proceeded to change (I didn't peek!) and I held the glow stick while he dived into the water and after a few minutes of dunking himself, he found them with his foot. He said "There's always a way, isn't there?" We talked for a long time after that. He changed (I still didn't peek!) and drove me home. We saw each other for a while and realized that we were great friends and that's all. Well, I am proud to say he was one of the greatest men I've ever met. Inspirational, exciting, explosive, ingenius, captivating. All words to describe a man whose really only ambition was to do the impossible and show that it could be done, to inspoire others to do the same. Thank you for the wonderful son you brought into the world. I will miss him. And so will the world.
